Clearly I am a child at recess over here.
I have been overly~busy as aspiring interior decorator and seemingly patient daughter.
Meanwhile, back at the drawing table, I have been abundantly inspired by a few of my Bloglandia friends who are busy, busy, busier than me.
"somepinkflowers," insisted this one, "you must sign up for this!"
And so I did.
As you can see way over here if you have the time to spare.
Not to be overwhelmed, as is often the case when I am faced with color decisions of the large-64- size-box-with-built-in-sharpener kind, I plucked only 12 colored pencils out of their home base for the sketchbook project assignment.
Well, don't you know that 6 of them were shades of pinky~red.
What can I say except thank goodness for 2 yellows, 3 greens and 1 mr. purpley~blue shadow!
I did have The Best of Intentions as is also the case with this and this.
Everyday I thought I would sketch a bit as life rolled on peacefully around me. A flowing Life~sea of ease and breeze carefree...
Ha!
Anyhoo,
visually prompted by my creative & prolific blogging sisters, I did finish up my book by cleverly cheating with a tube of this to winnow down the number of pages to a more manageable number.
So whilst you made admirable New Year's Resolutions, cleared the pantryof expired cans of tuna and walked your pup through the snow, I have been a child at recess over here with Blank Pages.
Thank you one and all.
And even thought you did not know you were inspiring me and my 12 well-selected colored pencils, you were. So take this for your energy shared.
Like the flowers in my garden all the sketchbooks I have seen thus far are amazing different as we each gave birth to our own version.
In my world everything is just a simple excuse to play with color. An excuse to tell a story.
And now my filled sketchbook is zooming home to be {{ hopefully }} viewed by others.
Clearly I am a child at recess over here. The bumbly~stumbly least experienced one on the PE field and many of you have been encouragingly instructive.
"What are these?" I ask and you pinch my chipmunk cheek lovely and soothingly explain.
"What does this do?" I continued, like a 2~year~old with nothing but question~marks in my jumper~pocket, and you smiled on and educated.
Thank goodness for sharing your ways.
Here is some laughter~dessert for your generousity.

Errr...uhm. I don't know what those things are either.
But i do know 3 things:
1. I know what crayons are! They are bits of ambrosia from the heavens. A chance to color your own rainbow! (Random fact: EVERYONE at my house has their own box of crayons and EVERY room is crayon-equipped including the back porch, where the muse often visits disguised as a hummingbird named bogey).
2. You are a CHILD of the UNIVERSE at Play, which elevates you to stellar status, which comes chock full of major adoration. You celebrate the micro and macro of the universe every day, and color my world, and for that, the universe & i thank you mightily. <3 <--and heartily
3. YOU ARE AS BRILLIANT as the colors you choose.
thank you for sharing!
XOXOXOXOXOX

ahhh! thank you - it IS (was) the most perfect inspiration for me to get cracking ... last night was full of a lot of gluing a little of this and a lot of that, plus some inking up pages ... nearly dry and ready for another day of PLAY!
if I remember correctly, the tour will be in Winter Park, FL in July ... it'll be a longish drive, but I am thinking it will be well worth it ... might even turn it into a homeschool field trip!

You must be good at everything you do! These sketches are wonderful and so you. I started this project with the best of intentions too, but messed up my first few pages with too much of that product you questioned and then too much paint. I'd have been better off using crayons. Why didn't I think of that. And then I got discouraged, and I would have had to glue all of my pages together to finish by the deadline . . . and now I don't even know where it is.
Sigh.
But, congratulations to you! I may go to Brooklyn to see your beautiful sketchbook!
