this big moon

Sliding slowly & seductively out of the Atlantic, the big pink Moon called my name across the gloaming.

So clearly I did hear Moon say my name I turned in wide-eyed wonder & almost stepped on a fragile, half-buried neverita duplicata.

"somepinkflowers!" Moon called again, only more insistently this time with emphasis on PINK as if there were some other colored flower standing there amidst the dunes.

Across the mildly choppy waves I imagined a smidgen of arrogant annoyance. Last-to-leave-the-party shorebirds scrambled up and flew straight away west.

"I see you standing there in last year's flip~flops,"  Moon rattled on, too big & pink to ignore. "Have you finally decided to spent a few days here with me at the seashore? I have been waiting since last year..."

"Why, thank you so much for asking, Moon! Don't mind if I do!" I answered back so politely I am still standing there right now this very minute out of genuine respect.
